This program is an ideal combination between the natural beauty Costa Rica’s northern plains and the beautiful pacific side beaches. During your stay in Costa Rica, you will have the chance to visit the Arenal Hanging Bridges filled with nature and wonderful sites, afterwards you will visit the Tabacon Hot Springs a natural sanctuary where your body will relax and enjoy the different mineral properties of this waters which emanates from the indirect volcanic activity. You will also visit the Caño Negro / Rio Frio River Wetlands, in which you will discover different species of flora and fauna, which lives in this side of the country.
Toward the end of the program, you will enjoy four nights stay in the beach area of Guanacaste, which is considered an ideal place to conclude your vacations, with days full of resting, relaxing, while enjoying the sun, beach and the warm waters of the North Pacific of Costa Rica.

Day by Day Itinerary
Day 1: LIR INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT – ARENAL VOLCANO
Once you arrive to the Liberia International Airport (LIR), a Swiss Travel representative will meet and greet you in order to provide you with your itinerary and documents. Afterwards you will be taken with an unescorted transfer to the Arenal area, on a 3 ½-hour drive. You will pass through the plains of Guanacaste and will have great views in the distance of the landscape through both areas including in the far distance of Tenorio volcano. Surrounded by rolling hills of pastured and forested land, the imposing cone of Arenal Volcano dominates the eastern vista. You will also pass around the majestic Lake Arenal, Costa Rica’s largest lake and its basin forms one of the most important hydroelectric project of our country.

Day 2: ARENAL VOLCANO

Breakfast at the Hotel.
Today you will be visiting the Arenal Hanging Bridges. This is a 618-acre reserve of primary forest. If you love nature, come and enjoy walking across 15 hanging bridges that range in length from 15 to 330 feet long, in a visitor friendly designed 1.8-mile course inside a beautiful rainforest. The bridges are built of aluminum, galvanized steel and concrete, to ensure maximum security for their visitors. A naturalist guide will be by your side, sharing important information regarding the natural history of this place, which will open the door to a fascinating and colorful tropical rainforest world. Impressive views to the volcano from the hanging bridges in the middle of the forest will make a perfect combination to build an unforgettable experience. Afterwards, you will find the peace and tranquility that you need to relax, at the Hot springs and its curative properties, set in the middle of tropical gardens; also, you will enjoy a delicious dinner before heading back to your hotel.
Day 3: ARENAL VOLCANO
Breakfast & Lunch
Today you will be visiting the Caño Negro area. A fantastic tour specially created for those who love nature and wish to be as exposed as possible to an amazing variety of wildlife. Caño Negro is a wildlife refuge that exists along the Río Frio area and builds a large biological humid area, considered one of the richest in biological diversity in Costa Rica. A bus will pick you at your hotel, where you will travel for about two hours through the Northern plains until you reach Los Chiles, a small village located only 4 km away from the Nicaraguan border. At Los Chiles, you will board a boat that will take you around the river for a floating Safari through the rain forest. You will be able to observe many different types of birds, mostly during the dry season. Some of the most commonly seen species are the Anhinga, the Roseate Spoonbill, Wood Storks and the Jabiru (the largest bird in Central America and currently an endangered species). Along the river banks, you might be able to see Howler, Spider and White-faced Monkeys, as well as the Three-Toed sloths and reptiles like caimans, Jesus Christ lizards and turtles.
Late afternoon return to the Arenal Volcano area for the overnight.
Day 4: ARENAL VOLCANO – GUANACASTE BEACH AREA

For today it is programmed the transfer to the Guanacaste northern Pacific Coast, specifically to the selected hotel according to program options. The first part of the transfer is adorned with the beautiful scenery of the Arenal Lake. Then, you will admire the incomparable beauty of the landscapes, which includes the tropical dry forest and its hot climate. Finally, you will reach your selected hotel, as you will stay four nights. The whole area will allow you to enjoy not only the stunning views but also the beautiful beaches with generous palm trees that rise up from the beaches and gives shade to sunbathers. For all of this it easy to understand the whole area is a perfect destination to enjoy nature and relaxation!
Days 5 – 7: GUANACASTE BEACH AREA

Days at leisure for you to enjoy the hotel grounds, the beach and even consider on taking an optional (extra cost) day tours in the area.
The region is known for its extensive nature reserves that house an incredible concentration of flora, fauna and natural beauty. Therefore, the are several reserves, natural attractions and many activities which can be done from the area at an extra cost, some suggestions are: Rincon de la Vieja National Park, which holds an active volcano, thermal mud baths, and a variety of forests, or Palo Verde National Park, which is a bird-watchers and nature-lover’s paradise. There are also canopy tours, river rafting, forest hiking, fishing and much more for you to explore.
Day 8: GUANACASTE BEACH AREA – LIR INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

According to your flight itinerary, for today you will have the transfer from your selected hotel in the Guanacaste beach area to the Liberia International Airport (LIR) to board your flight back home.
