My "Sunset Sailing" experience embarked on a journey through the natural beauty of Costa Rica. The adventure began at the W Hotel in Reserva Conchal, where I had booked my tour, heading directly to the Flamingo marina. Anticipation grew as I sailed along the Costa Rican coast, eagerly counting the minutes.
The hotel pickup was promptly ready at 1:15 PM, and the short journey to the marina brimmed with anticipation. Upon arrival, a catamaran awaited under the tropical 32-degree sun, ready to set sail. The welcoming aboard was pleasant, and the atmosphere was quintessentially "Pura Vida."
Welcome Aboard
A cocktail and a breathtaking view greeted us on the boat. The attentive crew quickly offered a selection of snacks: fresh, juicy seasonal fruits perfect for Guanacaste's warm climate, accompanied by a wide variety of beverages to ensure hydration was never an issue.
Underwater Wonders
Snorkeling offered the sea's first gift. Equipped with all the necessities, we explored the underwater world, encountering sea turtles, colorful fish, and several manta rays. On this occasion, our captain chose Playa Zapotal as our snorkeling destination, enhancing our experience with its clear waters and vibrant marine life, truly a hidden gem on the Costa Rican coast.
A Colorful Farewell
The sky was painted orange, pink, and purple as the sun set, providing the perfect spectacle to accompany our return to the Flamingo marina.
